When we first started out in podcasting we followed the advice of someone we have since determined didn’t know what they were saying and we used a well-known podcast hosting company for our hosting needs. While this company did an amazing job, the pricing was based on storage space and wound up costing us over $120 a month for 5 shows. This quickly became cost prohibitive. It was at this point that we began looking for another host for our podcasts. Enter Simplecast!
While we had to sacrifice some of the ease of publication to social media, Simplecast met every single one of our needs. They are quickly expanding their functionality to include features we are currently missing at a cost less than half of what we paid with our other host. Their support is top-notch. They personally help you with any issue you have.
Transferring our RSS feeds to Simplecast was not only easy, but their support made sure we avoided any and all potential pitfalls. When I had questions they answered them immediately. They were able to iron out any issues that came up and they did so quickly.
The interface for adding an episode is extremely simple and is all on one screen. This makes my workflow much faster. Now I simply add the appropriate details and hit save and my episode is published when I ask for it to be published.
